PROCESS ENGINEER
Location: Central Arkansas
Salary: Commensurate with experience and skillset
The Process Engineer will be responsible for the engineering optimization of Graphyte’s Processing and Storage facility in Central Arkansas. This person is expected to work with the operations team to identify cost savings and improvement opportunities, direct and spearhead those projects, and work with external stakeholders to ensure equipment gets delivered, installed and commissioned as per schedule and budget. This person will also play a big role in commissioning and startup of a planned plant expansion in early 2026. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a highly collaborative personality and strong engineering background. Experience in process and project engineering in grain handling, wood pelleting, and food processing industries is valued.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify and execute cost savings and improvement opportunities at both the Processing Facility (Pine Bluff, AR) and at the Storage Site (Sheridan, AR).

Provide troubleshooting support for process and engineering issues that arise.

Guide commissioning and startup of new equipment as part of a planned plant expansion.

Supervise installation, lead commissioning, and troubleshoot during startup.

Assist in selection, negotiation, and oversight of consultants and vendors.

Coordinate contractors and vendors to ensure project goals are met daily.

Draft Standard Operating Procedures for new equipment.

Address equipment reliability, production downtime, and quality issues.

Work with the R&D team on validation testing at the Graphyte facilities.

Manage Guidewheel software for equipment reliability management.

QUALIFICATIONS ​
-
5-10 years' experience as a process or commissioning engineer working with plant design or improvements, equipment selection, PFD and P&ID development, site infrastructure improvements and equipment commissioning.

Knowledge of electrical field devices – limit switches, flow sensors, solenoid valves, proximity switches.

Knowledge of gas flow equipment including valves, pressure transducers, etc.

Contractor management experience, including scoping the work, managing a bidding process, negotiations, field installation supervision, and change order management.

Ability to communicate and present to individuals at all levels of the organization.

Willingness to learn and adapt to a fast-changing environment.

Proficient in Excel, Power Point, MS Project, Word, AutoCAD, MS Projects.

Experience developing standards and best practices to support process optimization.
