STORAGE SITE ENGINEER
Location: Remote with 30-40% travel to Graphyte sites (including central Arkansas)
Salary: Commensurate with experience and skillset
Graphyte is seeking a Storage Site Engineer to join our technical team. The Storage Site Engineer will report to Graphyte’s Chief Technical Officer with significant involvement with the Operations team. This position will play a critical role driving Graphyte’s growth; this includes engineering work associated with existing storage sites as well as those in development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Storage Site closure/reporting requirements for established sites:

Site drawings (both prior to construction and as-built), calculations, and quality testing for zone construction and material purchasing

Manage subcontractors and calibration of gas monitoring system

New design work:

Assist in design for new storage site configurations including coordination with regulatory bodies

Monitoring system development:

Work with 3rd party engineering support as well as the data analysis team at Graphyte to understand any potential improvements and help oversee the installation of those improvements

For new sites, work with Graphyte science team to guide the design and installation of the monitoring system based on learnings from existing sites

New site development:

Based on site information shared by Project Dev team, perform preliminary site design work (e.g. feasibility studies, cut/fill analysis, road study)

Coordinate geologic studies required for permitting

Draft permitting documentation – work with a local engineering group for any additional required input

Initial vetting and planning for resourcing prior to hiring an onsite ops person and contract labor for burial operations

QUALIFICATIONS ​

Bachelors Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering
-
5 - 10 years of progressive experience in Engineering roles

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Able to identify cross-cutting areas for improvement and effectively analyze the impact to the bottom line

Able to operate within a fast-paced startup environment, balancing continual improvement with project execution and production targets

High ethical standards and integrity
-
Able to work effectively with a wide range of team members

Experience in landfills or other adjacent industries a plus
-
PE is a plus
